Genesis 2

On the 7th day, God blessed the day and rested. God had made Eden, and in the center if the garden planted 2 trees, one of Life and one of Conscience. He put man in the garden and told him to eat anything but from fruit from the Tree of Conscience, for it will open your eyes and make you aware of right and wrong. Then God decided to make woman from man as “a helper suited to his needs.”. God took a rib from Adam (the first man) and made woman (woman means taken out of man).

Notes of interest:

God didn’t tell woman about the fruit or tree, only Adam.

I can’t find anywhere how Adam came to be called Adam. In Genesis 1 28 God clearly tells man to multiply and fill the earth, He calls men masters of the fish, birds and animals. For those of you confused by this I found my answer in Genesis 2 4. This is a summary of the events that were over summarized in Genesis 1… So this isn’t strictly chronological.
